MSc (Integrated Environmental Studies), BSc (Hons) Oceanography with Marine Biology
Spencer is an accomplished Environmental Approvals Manager with over 20 years' of experience in a variety of roles both in Australia and internationally. He has been involved in the delivery of approvals for a diversity of projects including resource projects, linear infrastructure projects (roads, rail, pipelines) and marine infrastructure projects (ports, wharves, jetties, wind farms and seawalls). Spencer has particular expertise in:
- Approvals management, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to deliver best-for-project outcomes.
- Provision of high level strategic and specialist technical advice across a range of disciplines.
- Development of approvals strategies to guide Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for greenfield and brownfield mining and infrastructure developments.
- The design and completion of marine studies including marine environmental quality, benthic communities and habitat and marine fauna.
- The management of specialist terrestrial studies including flora and vegetation, terrestrial fauna and subterranean fauna surveys.
- Environmental and Compliance Reporting.
- Scoping of technical studies to support EIA for major projects.
- Stakeholder Engagement, including briefings, meetings and public forums with government representatives, NGOs and community groups.
