Principal Environmental Geochemist
Michael joined MBS Environmental in 2013 and has worked since 2000 in the field of environmental chemistry in relation to sampling, analysis and interpretation\consultancy at all levels of client reporting and technical problem-solving. Highly experienced across analytical, environmental, organic, inorganic and physical chemistry as well as occupational hygiene, geochemistry, soil science and materials science. Michael is a member of the International Association of Geochemistry and an associate member of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists.

- Acid Metalliferous and neutral mine drainage and waste characterisation including specialised leaching and kinetic studies
- Radiation assessment of mine materials for ERA and HRA
- Air quality monitoring for both ambient (public health) and occupational hygiene
- Contaminated sites assessment and remediation
- Acid sulfate soils, sampling and assessment
- Dangerous goods, international shipping (IMSBC/MARPOL) classification and SDS preparation and human health risk assessments of mineral concentrates
- Waste water treatment and disposal/re-use
- Drinking water quality interpretation, treatment, analysis and management
- Occupational hygiene monitoring, metals toxicology, biological monitoring, respirable silica and naturally occurring asbestos
- Chemical speciation and fingerprinting for source apportionment
