Michael is an environmental engineer with over 25 years’ experience in environmental management for the mining and resource industries.
Michael has completed the preparation of a large number of approvals documents and technical reports including surface hydrology baseline and flood risk assessments, landscape and visual impact assessments, mining proposals, mine closure plans, clearing permit applications, works approvals and environmental licences.
Expertise
- Surface hydrology including flood risk assessment, water balance modelling, diversion design and numerical modelling
- Volumetric modelling of earthworks and tailings storage facilities
- Three-dimensional visualisation including visual impact assessment
- Design and application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for mapping and data analysis
- Environmental monitoring, including data interpretation using geo-statistical methods, collection and interpretation of UAV (drone) data and use of remote sensing data
- Environmental impact assessment and approvals
- Environmental reporting
