Currently 24% of Australia’s electricity comes from renewable energy sources, including wind farms and solar farms.
To help achieve the nationwide target of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, MBS has and continues to work with our clients to initiate renewables projects at their sites. To date MBS has been part of teams planning for and securing approvals for the following renewable components of mining projects:
- 10 MW Solar farm for Sandfire Resources DeGrussa Mine (2015).
- 14 MW Solar farm at the Gruyere Gold Mine (2020).
- 24 MW Wind farm at the AngloGold Ashanti Sunrise Dam Project (2022).
- 100 MW Wind and 100 MW Solar infrastructure for the OZ Minerals West Musgrave Project (2021-22).
- 30 MW Wind and 16.5 MW Solar infrastructure for the Liontown Resources Kathleen Valley Lithium and Tantalum Project (2022).
In addition to securing the required approvals for renewable projects, MBS can also assist in completing Landscape Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) and avifauna impact studies.
We are proud to be part of the work to get Australia on track to net zero.
