Kathleen Valley Lithium Tantalum Project
The Kathleen Valley Lithium Tantalum Project is one of the most significant new long-life lithium projects being constructed anywhere in the world. In 2018 Liontown Resources contacted MBS Environmental for assistance with an initial feasibility and scoping study to determine viability of the project. Since then, MBS have been engaged by Liontown to assist with a variety of approvals and geotechnical projects to enable project start-up, including:
- Regulatory approvals including Mining Proposals, Clearing Permits and Works Approvals and subsequent revisions
- Mine Closure Plans, financial provisioning and Mining Rehabilitation Fund submissions.
- Regulator consultation and specialist environmental project development advice through all stages of the project.
- Soil and Landform assessment
- Soil, Waste and Tailings Characterisation studies
- Recycled Water Quality Management Plan and ensure the necessary approvals
- Commission baseline studies to cover a number of survey areas within the Project area, including;
- Reconnaissance flora/vegetation and Level 1 fauna survey
- Targeted Flora Survey
- Targeted Black-Flanked Rock Wallaby Survey.
- Carry out Stygofauna surveys
