Happy World Wetlands Day! World Wetlands Day (external link) is held on 2 February every year to celebrate the anniversary of the signing of the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance (Ramsar Convention, external link) in Ramsar, Iran on 2 February 1971.  The international theme for World Wetlands Day 2016 is Wetlands for our future: sustainable livelihoods.

The Western Australian Wetland Management Conference 2016 (external link) is being held on 2 February 2016 in Bibra Lake.  The conference aims to provide an annual opportunity for the exchange of information and ideas between wetland practitioners with a focus on the latest developments on how to effectively manage and restore wetlands.  Kirsi from MBS will be in attendance.
