The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) have released two new draft guidance notes:
- Draft guidance note: Environmental Outcomes for Mining Proposals – provides advice regarding the development of site specific environmental outcomes for Mining Proposals prepared under the 2016 guidelines.
- Draft guidance note: Environmental Risk Assessments for Mining Proposals and Mine Closure Plans – provides advice regarding development of a comprehensive environmental risk assessment for either a Mining Proposal or Mine Closure Plan.
These can be accessed on the DMIRs website (external link). Feedback forms are available for both notes and submissions are open until 9 November 2017. MBS will be collating responses to both draft guidance notes.
